Today I am honored to host the Yakezie Personal Finance Carnival.  Thanks to all you guys for sending me your best stuff!

Today, I wanted to do a travelogue about Costa Rica-one of my favorite places to visit.  One of the reasons I stress personal finance education is to give you the freedom to follow your dreams, and for a lot of folks that dream is travel!

  5. I love what you did with this Carnival! Educational, creative, with pictures and such.

Sweet! I’ve never been to Costa Rica, and must now go check it out! It was on our target lists for this past May, but we cheaped out and did a staycation instead.

When is the best time to go?

    • Dr.Dean says:

      Thanks, :)
I like mid-May through August in our area-Ocotal, in northern Guanacaste region.
Nov-Dec is good. The high season for tourists is Jan.-April, and many from the north love it then, but it is hot for me. I get hot year round here in Georgia,, so I like a few clouds when I am in CR.

  6. Len Penzo says:

Costa Rica looks absolutely phenomenal, Dr. Dean! I have an uncle who invested in a teak farm in Costa Rica about ten years ago. It was very interesting how it works. He bought a certain number of saplings. Over time, those saplings get thinned out while the others grow until they can be harvested as mature trees for profit. He gets updates and photos on the progress of the trees. I think he said the trees can be harvested after ten years or so.

    Best,

    Len
