Best Nurse Blogs
Every two weeks, I publish this Best In Nurse Blogs to highlight great writing and information for nurses.
In this edition, I want to honor Buddy Christian. Buddy was a 34 year old senior police officer shot and killed in the line of duty in Athens, Georgia on Tuesday.
First responders and their family know the dangers of their job when they go to work every day. It was such a sad and senseless act.
As the father-in-law of a police officer and as city councilman, I see the dedication of these young men and women every day.
As Guy Kawasaki told me in my recent interview-teachers, nurses, (I would add first responders,) don’t go into their profession for the money. They do what they do to help their fellow man.
God bless this fallen hero and be with his family.
Officer Christian had been with the Athens police force since December 2002. He was married, with a 2-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter. A memorial fund has been set up for his family at the Athens First Bank. Contributions can be sent to the bank at 150 West Hancock Ave., Athens, Ga., 30601.
