The latest edition of the Best In Nurse Blogs-my bi-weekly focus on the best writing by, for, or about Nurses!
Best In Nurse Blogs:
We just had a visit from my children and the dogs. Both my kids are animal lovers and they married animal lovers. That means, at least so far, that instead of cleaning up after a visit from grandchildren, we are cleaning up after grand-dogs.
We had about 400 lbs of dogs here for a few days, and I felt like a cross between the Dad in Cheaper by the Dozen, and the Father of the Bride. In other words all hell was breaking lose, over which I had no control.
We’ve just about vacuumed up all the hair, swept up the scattered dog food, scooped the poop, swiped up the drool, and cloroxed the blood (yes we had a dog fight!)
Maybe we’ll just disappear to the coast for Christmas (just kiddin kids….)
Let’s get started on The Best Nurse Blogs:
Travel nursing on steroids-At AJN a post about Nursing down under-mate!
Keith at Digital Doorway, gives his take on the Occupy Movement. A thoughtful discussion, without name calling, is the only way to make positive changes. What’s your take?
Not Ratched is describing unknown forces of the universe occurring in the ER.
At Your Cervix writes about grazing, a common cause of calorie Kamikaze.
Feminism responsible for the ills of nursing? That question discussed at Impacted Nurse.
Focus on change- a competition-is the focus at Nurse with a Heart. Good luck.
J.ParadisiRN squiggles her way to success,or succeses her way to squiggles… Improvements are rarely a straight line, either in your life or your career. Oh, and check out the fern pic on the home page while you’re there-cool.
Voceras is the subject at Codeblog. Yeah you’ll have to go read it to find out what the hell Voceras is.
Crass-Pollination writes a detective story. Ya never know what you’ll read here.
Lost on The Floor discusses Coincidences. His skepticism is, shall we say, ripe-or maybe right.
My Strong Medicine-Sean discusses pain and tattoos. And sounds like he should know.
A Rant about the Forever Lazy is at the Nerdy Nurse. Why don’t you model one for a new Avatar???
Another rant-lite from Terri at Nurse Story: Why aren’t you a member of Sigma Theta Tau, an international nursing organization? Go there and see what’s up.
Nursetopia has written about a sign, not a zodiac sign, or a sign from heaven, just a sign. Check it out. She has a rant on her blog too, but I didn’t want to have “an all-rant” Best of Nurse Blogs, though that may be a good theme sometime….
After all the ranting, how ’bout a little poetry at Toronto Emerg.
To Cry or Not To Cry, a poignant story at Running Wildly.

Thank you for the round up!
I have a feeling that some prankster will wrap one of those things up and hand it to me for some holiday cheer.
But wouldn’t it be an insult?
Or may a compliment….
“You’re not lazy enough… this will help!”
