Welcome to another rousing edition of Friday Financial Follies, a full folio of fascinating facts and favorites for your reading pleasure/pain!
The focus of the news media this week was political, with stories on the circus known as the primary silly season. In the days before cable news and instant web-based communication, it was not until the end of spring that the primaries were news outside the host state. Election news didn’t really go front page until the conventions in August. Then it faded into the woodwork again until 3-4 weeks before the November vote.
I already have election fatigue and I’m a political junkie…
The good news is that Europe’s woes seem to have faded slightly allowing the stock market to seemingly be affected by individual company profits, losses, or projections-weird huh! Stock picking may be alive and well in 2012. We will see!
Let’s get to what you’ve all been waiting on….(hey I can dream can’t I!)

A thoughtful post on the likelihood of 5 dollar gas.
Say it ain’t so!
Twinkie maker going bankrupt? How will we get our sugar high? Maybe that will help folks with their New Years weight loss plans…
Heart Broken
Losing a loved one increases the heart attack risk of the surviving partner significantly for the first few weeks after the loss.
Exercise in pregnancy
Vigorous exercise is becoming much more accepted during pregnancy. Rock climbing anyone?
